How to order
out-of-print books
All of our
out-of-print titles are listed on our site without
pricing information. To begin the search process, you
must place an order for the out-of-print item. Once
we've received your order, our search service will
contact our suppliers to see if we can obtain a copy
of the title. When they locate a copy, they will
notify you by e-mail for approval of the price and
condition prior to the shipment of the book. If you
wish to order more than one copy of any out-of-print
title, please place a separate order for each copy.
Specific editions
Please note that
although we occasionally have multiple editions of an
out-of-print title listed on our Web site, our
out-of-print search is not edition-specific, so the
copy we locate may differ from the Web site
description in some details. For example, if you
place an order for a paperback edition, and we are
only able to locate a hardcover edition, we will give
you the option of making the hardcover purchase. Our
goal is to search for the most reasonably priced copy
on the market.
We guarantee each
out-of-print book we locate will be in good condition
or better. "Good condition" refers to a
previously read book that shows some signs of wear
and may have minor flaws, but has all pages and
leaves present.
Price approval
Please also note that
we cannot actually order the book from our supplier
until you have confirmed that you are willing to buy
the title at the price we offer. We never charge you
for an order until the time of shipment, so you will
pay nothing unless you approve the price and we ship
it to you. Since the availability of out of print
items cannot be predicted, each title in an order is
shipped separately.
Payment method
Please use a credit
card rather than a check for orders containing out of
print books. We must ask this because these titles
can only be held for a short time, and use of a
credit card decreases the time needed to process your
order.
